BJP’s ‘Telangana March’ turns Violent in Delhi

Seeking to mount pressure on the ruling Congress, BJP’s started agitation in Delhi called “Telangana March” in support of separate Telangana state turned violent

Sources said at least 5,000 protesters were marching towards the Parliament  when they were stopped by the police. The rally was being led by youngsters, who were marching ahead of their leaders, and they tried to break the barricade and pelted stones on policemen. “The cops mercilessly beat up the protesters. They did not even spare the elderly,  police used tear gas,water spray to disperse protesters who had come from across the state to protest .

State BJP leaders and activists would stage a hunger-strike at Jantar Mantar in the national capital later.The aim was to put pressure on the UPA government at the Centre which failed to form the separate state as per its promise, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy said here.
