BJP MLA Raja Singh threatens to take law in hands against Padmavati

rajasinghTelangana BJP MLA Raja Singh demanded that film ‘Padmavathi’ be banned in the state for distorting the history by the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Raja Singh participated in a rally from Maharana Pratap Statue Bhalakshmi Temple in Begumbazar to Hyderabad Collectorate. On the one hand, police arrested Raja Singh and his followers.

The MLA said that the Kantriya’s sentiments were damaged due to the distorting history of Rani Padmini, who symbolizes the valour, culture and traditions of Kshatriyas.

He asked The Chief Minister KCR to issue stop orders on the film like other states including Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Raja Singh wrote a letter to CM KCR and Hyderabad Collector demanding a ban on Padmavati movie in State.

He said, ” If CBFC doesn’t support us, we will have to take the law into our hands. We won’t allow Padmavati to release in Telangana State.

‘Padmavati’ based on Rajputh Maharani Padmini’s life. Deepika Padukone, Raviveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor played the lead roles. Rajput’s Karni Sena activists and several BJP leaders commented against the release of the film.

The director and the actors were threatened by beheading, The film was to be released on December 1. But the producers have postponed the release.
