A big advantage to Sankranthi releases, The Movie-ticket rates will go up before Sankranthi season. The joint High Court has issued interim orders to allow the theatres’ management to increase the price of cinema tickets in both the states.
High Court looked at the petition filed by some theatres in Telangana and allow them to increase prices. However, the theatres have to pay tax in the appropriate proportions with the increased prices to the government. It made clear that the ticket price information should be given to the relevant authorities. Until the government committee guidelines, the prices can be raised.The next hearing was postponed to February 1 for counters on the issue. The order was issued by Justice SV Bhatt.
Many theatres in the past have requested the High Court to allow the government to increase the tariff rates in the theatres.
