The Left-sponsored dawn to dusk ‘Bharat Bandh’ to protest demonetisation proved to be a damp squib in Andhra Pradesh today as normal life remained unaffected across the state. Though the Left parties spearheaded by CPI(ML) blocked movement in Guntur and other places, But rest of the place remained normal.
The CPI took out a rally from its party office to Lenin Centre, where CPI state Secretary A Ramakrishna was arrested for staging dharna. Similar protest rallies were taken out in Guntur, Nellore, Ongole, Eluru and Rajahmundry and protests were organized in front of APS RTC bus stations .
Business establishments remained closed for a couple of hours in the morning at Besant road and other commercial areas.
