Bhanu Kiran’s judicial remand extended

A criminal court at Nampally today extended the judicial remand of M Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in the sensational murder of factionist Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Surii last year, to June 13.

The court took this decision when the CID officials produced Bhanu Kiran before the court following expiry of his police custody.

Following the directions of court, the police officials shifted Bhanu Kiran to Cherlapally Central Prison.

The court also extended the judicial custody of Mangala Krishna, who was arrested by the CID for allegedly supplying firearms to Bhanu, till June 6.

He was later shifted to Cherlapally Central Prison.

Bhanu Kiran, one of the most wanted persons in Andhra Pradesh and a former aide of Suri, was arrested by a CID team on the outskirts of Zaheerabad town in Medak district on April 21, after evading arrest for over 15 months.

A faction leader from Anantapur district in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, Suri, who was prime accused in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi in 2005, was shot dead allegedly by Bhanu in a car at Yousufguda here on January 3 last year.
