Arunachal Pradesh Crisis: CM and 42 Cong MLAs Resigns

pema-khandu-arunachal-cmIn a dramatic development, Congress lost its government in Arunachal Pradesh as 42 Congress MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, resigned from the party, to join People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) , which is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Out of 46 MLAs supporting the government, 43 Congress MLAs including the Chief Minister and two Independents have joined the PPA. Congress has 44 legislators in the house of 60. Only former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki was left in the party in the state.
