Actress Charmme Kaur moved Hyderabad High Court, seeking its direction that authorities should not forcibly collect her blood, hair and nail samples after being summoned by Telangana excise authorities for questioning in a drug racket case.
The arguments in the petition filed by Charmee has completed, The advocate of Charmee, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy informed that court she is an unmarried woman and has approached the court to protect her constitutional rights under article 20.
He requested the court that her client Charmee wants the questioning to be taken up in presence of lady officers and also wants the questioning to be done in presence of a lawyer. The lawyer also informed the court that she is not interested in giving Blood, hair, and nails samples and requested the court to see that they are not taken forcibly from her.
The Charmee lawyer said, her client is a law abiding citizen and she would definitely cooperate with teh investigation. He stated that Charmee has been served notices to attend inquiry as a witness.
On the other hand, The SIT lawyer informed the court that Chrmee has filed teh petition for publicity as she already acknowledged that she would come for investigation. He also stated that SIT officials are not taking samples forcibly and the investigation is going on as per Supreme court guidelines.
The court will announce his verdict this afternoon after 2:30 pm IST.
