In view of the Centre hiking the price of diesel by Rs five recently, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) hiked the farestoday. The new fares will come into force from midnight tonight. The APSRTC has passed the burden to the consumers after a meeting was held between Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana and Managing Director A K Khan last night. The Government gave its approval to the corporation’s request this afternoon. The APSRTC has increased fare by Rs one in Palle Velugu buses upto 25 km and Rs two upto 45 km and later five paise per kilometer.
