Allu Sirish debut in a fix

Allu Sirish is set to make his Kollywood debut but his film seems to be going through a lot of uncertainties. Director Radha Mohan’s forthcoming film “Gauravam”, that stars the young actor, has had numerous changes even before it’s official announcement. Initially, talks were on with Naga Chaitanya for the lead in this Tamil-Telugu bilingual, but just last month, it was confirmed that the role was offered to Sirish.
The next issue was with the heroine — Varalaxmi had been roped in to star opposite Naga Chaitanya, but she was later dropped. With Sirish coming into the picture, the hunt for the leading lady has been on for a while now. This has further delayed the film, which was supposedly planned to go on floors in January.
A source says, “This film marks Sirish’s debut in Kollywood, and the makers are keen on getting every aspect of the project right. They felt he should be paired opposite an actress who has a good market in both Kollywood and Tollywood and who can speak Tamil well. After considering several names, the director and Prakash Raj felt Amala Paul was the right choice. But the actress couldn’t give the required dates as she was busy with other commitments. Now, the film is left without a leading lady. Several actresses are now being considered, but there’s still no clarity.”
The film seems to be back to square one. However, an unfazed Radhamohan tells us, “We’re in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. An official announcement will be made next week.”
