Aliens scare in Hyderabad?

People of Hyderabad have become jittery when they spotted a bright white object flying over the north-eastern skies of the city on Tuesday night. Thousands thronged the streets to watch the object. Through out the night, TV channels received calls about the suspicious flying object.

As the object was still visible in the morning, the people became frightened. Hectic calls were made to TV channels and the met offices. Roumers were spread that it was a flying saucer and aliens were going to attack Hyderabad. TV channels have been showing the flying object in their news programmes all through the night.

However, scientists have clarified in the morning that it was just a balloon sent into the upper atmosphere to study weather. Raghu Nandan, a scientist of the meteorology department said that the balloon with equipment worth Rs. 1 crore was sent into the atmosphere to study weather. He said the National Balloon Facility near ECIL has released the balloon. He said a similar experiment was done in 2009. When asked about the scare of the people that the flying object would fall on them and cause large scale casualties, he said though the balloon is expected to blast in the air and the equipment would come down, there would be no loss to human or any other life. He said a team would be observing the movement of the balloon and retrieves the equipment as soon as it lands on earth. He said there would be no danger whatsoever to any one.
