AK Singhal responds to Ramana Dikshitulu allegations

SinghalTirumala Tirupati Devasthanam EO Anil Kumar Singhal has responded to the allegations of the main priest Ramana Dikshitulu. Ramana had criticized that there is transparency in Swami’s jewellery and did not comply with the rules of the Agama Sastram.

AK Singhal said, The jewellery of Lord Balaji is very safe, Referring to reports of Wadhwa and Jagannath committee, he said that on the advice of the Advisory Council, Jewellery would be kept for display of devotees.

Singhal said that the comments made by the Ramana quoting 2001 report that the pink diamond was broken, is not correct. Judge Jagannath Rao committee report said that the Ruby was broken at the time. The Broken ruby pieces are still safe at TTD.

Singhal also responded to the retirement of the priests who passed over 65 years. This provision came into force in 2012, he said. Then three retired priests went to court. But the court ruled that priests can continue services without getting paid. Singal said that their descendants, who were removed on age factor will be appointed as priests in Tirumala.
