Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK on Thursday sacked its Deputy General Secretary T.T.V. Dinakaran, nephew of the jailed General Secretary V.K. Sasikala, ahead of a possible merger between the two groups CM Palaniswamy and Panneerselvam.
The AIADMK decision was announced after a nearly one-hour meeting at the party office attended by Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and some 30 ministers and party leaders. The party in a statement said, Dinakaran cannot hold any party post since he was not a party member for a continuous five years who was earlier dismissed by late CM Jayalalithaa.
Dinakaran was made the Deputy General Secretary by Sasikala before she was jailed for corruption. The statement of AIADMK called Sasikala as Respectable instead of Chinnamma.
