Agnyaathavaasi, directed by TrivikramSrinivas, has taken a terrific opening from its US premieres. Released in over 500 locations across the USA, this is biggest ever release for an Indian film.
There are around 230 locations as of now that collected less than $1000 Gross. Some of these may be limited schedules, but still, the distributor could have saved significant money in terms of VPF (Virtual Print Fee) and Disk Costs.
Releasing at highest Number of Locations(500) and only VPF charges For 500 Locs-$250k [1.6Cr]. While 50 Locations collected Below $100 and 240 Locations collected Below $ 1000. It is an absolute waste of VPF charges.
Suppose If the gross was $100k-Distributor will get only 50k & also Hard disk costs, VPF ($1000/Theatre) and Courier will be extra burdens. In this way, Agnyaathavaasi lost more than 1.6 crore due to bad planning.
