Adverse remarks against CM not acceptable: AICC
All India Congress Committee(AICC) Secretary Krishnamurthy today warned that adverse remarks against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would not be accepted. Talking to reporters here, Mr Krishnamurthy said adverse remarks against the Chief Minister would not be accepted, even as the demand for Mr Reddy’s removal was being voiced openly by senior leaders, in view of the party’s debacle in the recent bypolls to seven Assembly constituencies. Nobody made the demand to replace the Chief Minister during the talks, he said and added that ‘we will not accept any open criticism against Mr Reddy as it was not proper for senior leaders to go public with their dissident voices.’ Both the governments at the Centre and the state were ‘perfect and strong’, the AICC Secretary claimed and said the Telangana issue was under the Centre’s purview. The long-pending appointments of presidents of District Congress Committees would take up soon, he added. Earlier, Mr Krishnamurhty held talks with Mr Reddy, Pradesh Congress Committee President Botcha Satyanarayana, Ministers and MLAs, in the backdrop of dissident activities in the party. He also held discussions with the Ministers and MLAs from various districts separately to get feedback about the party’s state of affairs ahead of the coming by-elections to the 18 Assembly seats including Tirupati following sitting MLA Chiranjeevi being elected to the Rajya Sabha, according to sources. The by-elections are likely to be held in May, the sources added.
