Accused raises objection to ED’s interrogation

The accused arrested and jailed in the illegal assets case, Emaar scam and OMC cases, today raised objections in the Principal special CBI Court on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) move to question them. The accused–B V Srinivas Reddy, IAS officers Sri Lakshmi V D Rajagopal in OMC case, IAS officer B P Acharya, Koneru Prasad, Vijaya Raghav in Emaar case, Bhrahmananda Reddy, B P Acharya in Jagan’s illegal assets case stoutly opposed the ED grilling them in the jail. However, the advocates of Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, and Sunil Reddy arrested in the disproportionate assets case of Mr Jagan sought time to raise theirobjections. The accused said it was not proper to question them when they were in Jail. Meanwhile, the CBI Court had adjourned on taking up the hearing of the ED petition to June 7.
