ACB registers FIR against CBI judge

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today registered First Information Report (FIR) against Suspended Judge of First Additional CBI Court T Pattabhirama Rao and seven others after the CBI handed over the investigation to ACB into the cash-for bail scam involing the Judge and former Karnataka BJP Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy in the OMC scam. The FIR was also filed against the Judge’s son Ravi Chandra, Janardhan Reddy’s brother and Bellary MLA Somasekhara Reddy, Dashrathram Reddy, BJP MLA of Kampli in Karnataka Suresh Babu, retired district Judge P V Chalapathi Rao, Rowdy Sheeter Yadagiri and Junior Advocate Aditya. Earlier the ACB on June 9 had booked a case agaist them under section 120-B of IPC for criminal conspiracy, section 34 for criminal act by several persons, section 109 for abetment of crime and section 219 forsubversion of judicial proceeding by corrupt means. The accusedwere also charged under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. The case related to granting bail to Mr Janardhan Reddy by the Judge Pattabhirama Rao after allegedly striking a deal and refusing to give bail to suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi who was in jail in the OMC scam.
