ACB issue notices to MLAs in Liquor syndicate case

After conducting raids on the residences and offices of liquor tradersfor running shops under benami names and arresting 21 persons recently, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today intensified its probe by issuing notices to three legislators to appear before it for three days from June 19 in the liquor syndicate scam case. Sources said the notices were issued to Congress Mahabubabad MLA Kavitha and TDP legislators–Venkata Veeraiah (Sathupalli constituency) and Ramana Krishna Babu from (Visakhapatnam East constituency). The ACB also issued notices to former MLAs Chenna Keshav Reddy, Puvadda, Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao Relative Chinna. The charges against them were that they had allegedly taken bribes from the liquor syndicates in the state. The issue had rocked the Andhra Pradesh Assembly in February last when the opposition parties demanded the resignation of former Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana for his involvement in the case.
