ACB arrests Babus

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials today arrested a government employee on the charges of accepting bribe.

In a release, the ACB said Dharmapuri Vinod Kumar (42) additional Assistant Engineer, (Operation), Office of APCPDCL, Bhongir (Rural), Nalgonda District was caught red handed by the ACB officials at his office, when he demanded Rs 35,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour of processing the work order for providing electricity connection to the proposed Restaurant. Mr Kumar directed the complainant to hand over the total bribe amount to Mr Yata Yadagiri (52), Line Inspector in the same office to be shared between both officers (Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000), the release said.

Tainted bribe amount of Rs 35,000 was recovered from the right side pant pocket of Mr Yadagiri at his instance, after the chemical test yielded positive rsults. Mr Kumar and Mr Yadagiri were being arrested and will be produced before the IInd Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, here, the release addeed.
