Tamil Nadu Theaters to Shut Down From July 3 due to the implementation of Good and Services tax from July 1st.
Tamil Nadu Film chamber of commerce announced an indefinite shutdown of theaters across the state from July 3rd.
Abirami Ramanathan, President of the Tamil Nadu Film Chamber of Commerce announced the cancellation of movie screenings. More than 950 theaters to participate in Bandh and 1060 screening will be closed.
He requested the state government to clarify by this weekend as to how much tax amount will be levied on theater owners.
