A group of 52 Indian Sikhs and Christians, incarcerated in the US for illegal immigration, said they were seeking asylum after facing “religious persecution” in India.

These are trafficked into the US from Mexico’s border were placed under federal detention centre while trying to get refuge in the state of Oregon.

Lawmakers who went to the detention centre on Saturday said There are a total of 123 hostages from India, China, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan and Ukraine. It is not known whether they migrated with their family members. The detainees have expressed their disgust for keeping them in a small room.

The Trump office said: There are 12,000 illegal immigrant infiltrators in the country in detention centres and 10000 of them have been illegally migrated by their parents

Trump took to Twitter and said “We must always arrest people coming into our Country illegally. Of the 12,000 children, 10,000 are being sent by their parents on a very dangerous trip, and only 2000 are with their parents, many of whom have tried to enter our Country illegally on numerous occasions.”.
