350 people arrested in Karnataka over Cauvery issue

rp_bangalore-curfew-300x235.jpgKarnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a pressment to address the people of Karnataka over Cauvery issue.

Karnataka Home Minister said, Around 350 people were arrested, all those who set fire to buildings and public properties, based on video evidence from channels and police. He said, Whoever lost his or her life in police firing, will get Rs 10 lakh compensation.

While Karnataka CM said, Violence is not a solution to any problem. People have to maintain peace and tranquillity in the society. In sensitive areas where Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam & Bakra Eid are being celebrated ,They have deployed security forces . But problem arose yesterday at Mysore Road even after that, so they brought in more security forces today, said CM.

He said, They have full confidence in judiciary, and also written to the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter, and have asked for an appointment. He also urged media’s cooperation in bringing the situation to normal. He advised People not to take law in their own hands or cause damage to public property. He said, Bangalore isn’t just capital for Karnataka but an international city – Silicon Valley of India.
He said, As per the court’s order Karnataka government has released water for six days. Although The order is hard to follow but still they have followed the Supreme Court’s order.
