2009 elections counting case adjourned!

The Andhra Pradesh High Court today adjourned the case relating to re-counting of votes involvingthe election of Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah. The court had recorded the depositions of the Andhra Pradesh Information and Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah yesterday as part of his evidence. Mr Lakshmaiah attended the court for the second day today. The case related to a petition filed by Mr Lakshmiah’s opponent and TRS candidate Kommuri Pratap Reddy who prayed the court to pass orders for recounting of votes as well as scrutiny of all the ballot papers including postal ballots as he lost the assembly election from Jangaon constituency in Warangal district in 2009 by 236 votes. Judge R Kantha Rao will hear the arguments on February 21 on the scrutiny of the ballot papers.
