Kamal Haasan-starrer Vishwaroopam (Telugu) was off to a good start in overseas as the film’s collections and declared a genuine hit at overseas by collecting around USA $ 102,657 [Rs 55.38 lacs] in 28 screens in the opening weekend and Vishwaroopam’s Tamil version too has set the cash registers ringing with the film collecting around $ 6,34,912 [Rs. 3.43 crores] in 44 screens. Total of around Rs.4 crore for both versions.
The movie right were bought by Great Indian Films for just Rs.1.5 crores for both the version and the movie has fetched about Rs.80 lacs profit for its first weekend after deducting all expenses to become first Telugu movie to land in profits at overseas. . The distributor is very happy for its success.
In UK and Ireland, the movie registering around £ 95,676 [Rs. 81.23 lacs] in 19 screens including previews.
